The Piano Power Quest ® method book series empowers students to challenge themselves to practice effectively and come to their lesson prepared and ready to learn. Students are inspired as the Piano Power Quest ® captures their attention and imagination by engaging them in the story.
The main story takes place in the Master Quest (the lesson book). Students sharpen their skills in the Technique Training, Sight Reading Success, and Theory Triumph books. Students learn about the 7 Elements of Piano Music, which are used to evaluate performance: Notes, Fingering, Rhythm, Dynamics, Articulation, Pedaling, and Tempo. Teachers aware points (called "stars") for completion and accuracy of practice pieces and theory work. Stars are tallied at the end of each level and students are awarded a rank title based on how many stars they accumulated in each of the four books.

In this book, students will practice reading a lot of music to help them read better. Sight reading means to play music "at first sight". This book will train students to look ahead in the music and watch for each element to be correct. When they learn to sight read well, students can learn new pieces more quickly!
For each section, students will play short daily exercises 5 days a week. On the Lesson Day, students will sight read a piece for the teacher.
In this book, students learn how to read and write music. Students learn that theory is the study of how music is written and how music works. Students won’t play many pieces in this book, but the exercises will help them recognize patterns and understand the language of music.
